World Cruise - Day 74 - Mar 26 - Laem Chabang, Thailand - Part 2

[Part 2 – had to split into two entries due to too many pics]
As we drove to lunch, you could see signs along the highway honoring the king and queen of Thailand:
Scooter baskets:
More scooter baskets and matching pink helmets:
At the Nong Mon Market, we got to see lots of the local foods:
They sold a lot of dried fruits, fishes and vegetables:
These are dried squid:
The lady was trying to get Lanny to buy some of the sticky rice that comes in a piece of bamboo:
These cakes are made out of tarot root:
Lots of different foods, I have no idea what they all are:
This is jackfruit:
A couple of cute dogs with two other shoppers:
This was chicken and pork on a stick:
We ate at a local restaurant, I had the chicken curry, it set my hair on fire:
This is the kitchen of where we ate lunch:
They were also making these dumplings on the side of the restaurant:
After they finished with the dumplings, they loaded them onto this cart, which is then connected to the scooter (going the wrong way in traffic, BTW) by the girl’s knees holding it in place:
Tuk-tuk on the left, scooter on the right:
The toilet at our restaurant—you had to get water from the faucet on the left into that bucket, then put some in the toilet to get it to flush:
Local bus service:
Three tuk-tuks alongside the road.  There were far more cars here than in Vietnam.
In the afternoon, we were at Sanctuary of Truth, which is a building started in 1981:
Krissie and I got a ride on an elephant:
Krissie asked if she could ride “down on its head” and the driver said OK:
So we both got down low and the driver just moved the elephant from the ground:
Krissie and I had a lot more fun down on the elephant instead of on the bench up above:

Elephant posing for a photo op, nice trunk:
Note the elephant carvings on the building behind us:
The driver gave Krissie his tool for driving the elephant:
We had a blast, lots of fun, cute elephant:
Note the intricate details of the building behind us:
Then there was another Thai cultural show, note Krissie back right:
Krissie got her pic with all of the dancers in the show:
I love the “Please dress neatly” picture top left:
“Otherwise we will need to act legally.”  I guess that means: “Otherwise we will sue you.”

Back onboard the ship, they were doing a Thai culture show in the Cabaret Lounge:
Before the main performer tonight, the Princess Singers and Dancers performed “We are Family!”
The performer was Billy Boyle, an Irish comedian:
Tomorrow is sea day #1 of 2 on our way to Singapore.
