World Cruise - Day 23 - Feb 4 - Nawiliwili, Kaua'i - Part 2

So first of all, a disclaimer: we rarely stay up past 10p.  And we’re not unusual.  We have friends onboard who like staying up late and they mentioned how the ship is pretty much dead after 10p.  So we’ll go to the show at 8p, then listen to David play piano until about 10p, then call it a night.
Tonight we decided to go up to the pool deck for The Ultimate Deck Party.  They had a great dance going out on the pool deck and a wonderful late buffet.
A beautiful buffet, reminiscent of the midnight buffets we have seen on other ships.  Except that this one was at 10p.
Lots of carved fruits, including this artichoke eagle…
…cantaloupe pig…
…cantaloupe and pineapple elephant…
Not sure how they made the swan’s neck, but it was pretty cool.
I like the fan made with the pineapple.  Lots of fresh pineapple came onboard yesterday and today.
We can’t remember the name of this fruit, but it’s something like ram____, comes from China.  Very yummy, although it looks like something out of Alien.
Surprised to see so many people out “late” (we finally went to bed at about 11p).  Krissie and Lorraine dancing the night away.
Tomorrow is the first of five sea days on our way to American Samoa.  The stops start getting more exotic along the way, with Fiji and Tonga up as well.  We cross the equator sometime this week.  First time for me and Krissie to be south of the equator.

  1. Amazing buffet! I've never seen anything like that before.

  2. I loved the eagle on the buffet, too. Very unique items, and always fun to see how each ship has a different style to their buffet creations.
The dance would have been a favorite place for me, and looks like Krissie and Lorraine were having a blast as well!

  3. I was surprised to see your cruise still does the elaborate buffets. I have not seen an elaborate buffet lately on the ships we have been on. They say it is just not cost effective, as no one really eats the food prepared that late at night anymore. (I just love to look at it all, and I guess others do too.) The ice sculptures that are lighted are pretty cool too.
