World Cruise - Day 6 - Jan 18 - Cartagena - Part 2

[Part 2 of my post for today, split into two due to the size]
So after we got back from the tour, I was able to get pics from Lanny, Noemi and Sergio, each of whom have great DSLR cameras.  Same cat in the clay jar, Lanny was able to pick up the green green color of the eyes:
Another Lanny photo, I like how it looks like the cannon is trained on taking out the bus:
Lanny’s photo of old town Cartagena:
Lanny got this pic of me feeding the pigeons:
Lanny was able to get a good shot of the fortress as well:
Lanny also got an up close photo of one of the monkeys:
…and the last photo from Lanny, this one is of our ship in the harbor:
Noemi captured this photo of a woman selling fruit, I love the colors of this pic:
Another colorful pic from Noemi of the fruits for sale by the vendors:
Noemi also captured this view of one of the flamingos:
Sergio was able to capture this view of the sea from near the dungeon area:
Sergio took this picture of a tree whose trunk looks like an elephant’s legs:
…and Sergio also captured this photo of the flamingos:
Back onboard the ship, we were able to watch the sailaway from the back deck:
We did OK at trivia this afternoon, but just OK.  There were some really hard questions that we were not able to answer: What is the capital of Sierra Leone?  What does a bicepholas have two of?  How many balls, including the cue ball, are used in snooker?
The entertainer this evening was Jacqui Michaels:
Great voice, but her stage presence was a little over the top.  It was fun to listen to her songs, including a medley of Patsy Cline songs as well as Ella Fitzgerald and Joanie Mitchell.
Tomorrow we go through the Panama Canal, so we are rising early to see the first series of locks (Gatun Locks) which start at about 7a.  We should be going by the Miraflores Visitor Center sometime around 1p Eastern, when our ship will be viewable on the webcam there.  It can be accessed at www.pancanal.com in case you are interested.

  1. I especially liked the cat in the pot photo (green eyes). 22+1(cue)= 23 balls. Freetown= cap. Sierra L. Don't know what 'bicepholas" is -(spelling not right?). Can see you're now (12.50pm) at doors of Panama Canal. Interesting.... Some text (in latest postings) can't be easily read (showing in black).

  2. If you see this, know that I can see a webcam of your ship at GATUN Locks.
