World Cruise - Day 101 - Apr 22 - Safaga/Luxor, Egypt

I missed the sunrise at the horizon today for two reasons: 1) it never occurred to me how early it would be (since it was almost 7a two days ago, but with the two changes of the clock back, it was at 5:14a this morning); 2) it was on port side of the ship, since we are going south to get to Safaga, not north (Aqaba is north of Safaga, we backtracked out of the Gulf of Aqaba to get here).  I was up at 4:40a due to the clock changes (which would have been 6:40a just two days ago), but forgot to look outside early for the sunrise.  So I caught it a few minutes after it was above the horizon:
Patti, glad you knew a few trivia questions that I didn’t (and that we as a team didn’t).  See, everyone has their category.  If you knew the answer that six other people didn’t, that’s what trivia is all about, having that one question where you contributed.  A lot of the questions, all six of us know the answer (and every team in the room knows the answer).  It’s the tough questions that make the difference in trivia (which is why those are the ones I typically post).
Today is Safaga, Egypt, which is our gateway to Luxor, Egypt.  Luxor is the location of several temples (including Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple) and necropolises (including Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens).
We just got back from Luxor.  I have over 200 photos (down from well over 1,000) that I still need to edit for the posting.  It’s late (about 11p), so I will do more work on it tomorrow.  Until then, here is one of my favorite pics from today:
Tomorrow is a sea day, so it will give me a chance to get caught up on my pics from Luxor.

  1. I can see why you call this picture of Krissie and the other man as a favorite! Very cute, and love the background stones, as well as the stone in front of them ... whatever it is, which I'm certain is very unique in it's own right!
